Ancient Greek and Baroque poetry, medieval manuscripts, avant-garde literature — even if limited only to the Western European examples, it is apparent that visual poetry is a recurring phenomenon. By synthesizing the verbal and the visual perceptions of the book, Franz Kafka's diary continues this tradition. In this case, it also makes sense to mention glitch art. Independent of the author's initial rendition, the text here deforms with seemingly random malfunctions and errors.
